Working with a wide range of analog cameras—from 35mm to large format—I handle every step of the process by hand: film development, high-quality scanning, and, on request, traditional darkroom printing.
Each project is approached with care and intention, whether on location, outdoors, or in a studio setting, always adapted to the subject and the story to be told.
My relationship with photography began in 2004 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Arlon, where I was first introduced to black and white film and darkroom work. Learning to slow down, to observe, and to let images emerge rather than rush them has shaped my approach ever since.
In 2019, a film photography workshop in Vielsalm, led by Christian Leblanc, marked an important step in deepening this practice. It allowed me to refine both my technical skills and my visual language, and to reaffirm my commitment to a more deliberate, hands-on way of working.
Today, my work is built around a variety of film formats and cameras, chosen according to the needs of each project. I use 35mm, medium format, square and panoramic systems, alongside very old cameras—some over a hundred years old—that offer unique rendering and character.
Large format view cameras play a central role in my work. Their slow, methodical nature encourages precision in composition, perspective, and depth of field. This makes them particularly suited to portraits that are carefully placed within a meaningful and thoughtfully constructed environment.
Medium format photography, meanwhile, allows for greater fluidity and responsiveness, while still producing images with remarkable depth and presence.
All negatives are developed by hand, and each image is scanned at high quality and carefully refined, always with respect for the grain, texture, and imperfections that define film photography. Upon request, I also produce traditional silver gelatin prints in my own darkroom.
Photo sessions can take place in Luxembourg or abroad, at your location, outdoors, indoors with an existing setting, or with a discreet mobile studio. Film photography offers a wide range of creative possibilities, and each project begins with a conversation—so that together we can choose the most appropriate analog approach, one that is coherent, intentional, and true to your vision.
